When I got home today, Katie seemed to be doing better. She was a bit warm so I asked her if she wanted to take a bath. She said yes... "with my silverware Mommy!" So I told her to get her stuff to take in the bath and she came back with a tiny mug... the size of the souvenier shot glasses. She got in the tub and played with that mug for a long time till I started getting her washed up. She wanted to do it herself so I let her use her special sponge. A few minutes later she was saying "my ... something" but I couldn't understand her. Finally after she said it a few times, I understood she wanted her "scrubby" or at least that's what she called it! After awhile I told her that she needed to have her hair washed and I was told "I busy mommy. I playing." I left the bathroom and told her that we would wash her hair in 5 minutes. I walked back in just in time to hear her say "mommy so stu..." and that's when she noticed I was there. She didn't finish her sentence but I kind of got the gist of it. I asked her what she was going to say and she looked at me and hesitated... and then she said "stupid." I let her get away with it... after she looked me in the eye and smiled - because she knew she said something she shouldn't say and I couldn't stay there without laughing. But, boy, next time she's getting a time out!
Later in the evening, John went to pick her up from the couch to bring her to bed. He had just lifted her up when she opened her eyes and said "what?" He tried to lay her down but she wasn't having it!
It's now almost midnight and she's laying on the couch watching Thomas the Train. She's coughing and sounds terrible but her temp is down again which is promising!
